Tension Control Bolts

Tension Control Bolts or TC Bolts are a heavy duty bolt-nut-washer assembly used in steel frame construction. The TC Bolt head is not designed to be driven. The end of the shank has a spline, when engaged by an electric shear wrench it prevents the bolt from turning while the nut is tightened. When the right tension level is reached the spline shears off and the bolt is fastened.

INF3013 Coated Tension Control Bolts Infasco‘s INF3013 is a unique coating system that’s applied to tension-control (TC) bolts (and hex structural bolts), that surpasses the performance of mechanically galvanized coatings. It achieves extended corrosion resistance of 1,000 hours of salt spray, which is at least twice that of a mechanically galvanized coating. INF3013 also cannot generate hydrogen embrittlement, a major benefit. - Fastener Engineering
